Taken By The Sky: The Citation Latitude

Coast To Coast In Cessna’s Newest Jet

Textron Aviation has upped the ante when it comes to the Citation Latitude and passenger comfort. Starting with deliveries at the end of 2015, the Latitude is the first flat-floor six foot cabin in their fleet. With a side facing divan, 6 seats in the cabin and a belted lavatory seat, the Latitude can comfortably fly up to 9 passengers. Each seat has its own charging station for electronics and the Clarity Wireless system allows the cabin to function via app on the passengers personal device. Lighting, air conditioning, even Bluetooth music can be managed at the touch of a button.

The Latitude also boasts an impressive galley capable of storing catering dishes, glassware, and other amenities both charter and owner passengers expect from a coast to coast capable aircraft. All these features were designed with the passengers’ desire for the cabin to be simple to operate with or without a flight attendant and the technology easy to update.

The Latitude has been called the “XLS+ on steroids” but from the outside, it’s obvious this is an aircraft of an entirely new class. A fully automatic air stair door, dramatically designed swooping wings and the entire aircraft standing higher on its landing gear than many past Citations, the Latitude makes a statement on the tarmac. With operating costs more comparable to a Citation XLS than a Challenger 300, it makes for an affordable flight whether it’s nonstop 5 hours Phoenix to Teterboro, or a quick hop San Diego to Salt Lake City. Garmin 5000 avionics and Pratt and Whitney’s PW300 engine excel at fuel efficiency. Creating the perfect charter airplane was no small feat and Textron Aviation has delivered over 100 units since it’s certification. This is the most popular aircraft in the market for charter flights and its value is in the living-room-like qualities of the cabin. A quiet, comfortable flight for yourself and your passengers is just a click away.
